Our work

At The New Well we provide help to people who find themselves in difficult situations. Outside of our counselling and wellbeing library we also work alongside people through our CAP course(finance and budgeting help) and also our chatty tables which provide a space in the community for people to meet new people and have conversations.

Job Club

 Join us Thursdays from 11am – 1.00pm
The New Well at Low Port Centre, Linlithgow

Our vision is for a flourishing community where people live in hope and connection.
Our strategy is to bring hope and connection to our community through enhancing emotional, financial, social and spiritual wellbeing.
Job Club is an initiative that can help enhance your finances, employment and overall wellbeing. We have established a friendly community of job seekers and trained coaches. We
run weekly sessions offering training on how to identify skills/strengths, write a CV, apply for jobs and prepare for interviews. Our coaches are trained by Christians Against Poverty.

We also facilitate drop-in sessions, with 1-2-1 coaching, access to
computers and the internet. Our sessions are free and include lunch and refreshments. We have a working relationship with the local job centres and access2employment.

Every year, we have helped several long term unemployed people achieve permanent employment. Money coaching is offered, if you would like, to empower you with the knowledge,
skills, tools and confidence to take control and better manage your day-to-day finances.
Anyone can benefit – from seasoned budgeting experts to those struggling to get to grips with their spending.Topics include: building and balancing a budget, finding ways to cut costs and save money, learning how to use credit wisely and navigate unmanageable debt, exploring the difference between essential and optional expenses.

Join us in Coffee Neuk on Thursday afternoons 2 – 3.30pm
Our vision is for a flourishing community where people live in hope and connection.
Our strategy is to bring hope and connection to our community through enhancing emotional, financial, social and spiritual wellbeing.
Chatty Tables is a social connection initiative that can help enhance your overallwellbeing.

Connection is one of our main human needs. Research shows that people in neighbourhoods with higher levels of social cohesion experience lower rates of mental health issues than those in neighbourhoods with lower cohesion.
Neighbourhood social cohesion is associated with a reduction in depressive symptoms.
The New Well advertise and book tables at popular local cafes every week for people who would welcome the opportunity for more social interaction to meet and chat.

Manned by a rota of volunteers and staff, these sessions have proved popular. We look forward to meeting you soon.

Counselling

Our vision is for a flourishing community where people live in hope and connection.

Our strategy is to bring hope and connection to our community through enhancing emotional, financial, social and spiritual wellbeing.

Counselling can help enhance your overall wellbeing. Our team of highly qualified counsellors works with adults only. We provide counselling for those who have been affected by issues such as trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, relationship
difficulties, loss, low self-esteem and anger.

"I am extremely grateful to the team at The New Well for all their support over the last year."

Our counsellors provide a safe, confidential space where clients can explore their experiences, make sense of what they're going through and discover a way forward.

Counselling is available online and in person in Linlithgow. Our service is offered on a donation basis, helping to make support as accessible as possible while enabling us to continue serving our community.
As our counselling service is currently in high demand, there may be a waiting period before counselling becomes available.
If you would like more information or would like to enquire about counselling, please contact us at:
